World Population Density

What it is.

The world borders dataset contains hand drawn approximations for the political boundaries of all major countries in the world. It is small enough to run will in all major browsers, and looks great at the same time. The data itself is in a simple xml format so that it is easy to use in ANY mapping application.

The download includes two un-encrypted demos. The first demo simply displays all the world borders, and the other displays a choropleth diagram of world population densities.

The demo also includes an editing tool so that you can customize the data to your own needs : add/edit/delete country shapes, change country names, change country colors, align borders.

What it isn't.

Precise. To avoid any potential copyright issues this dataset was created by hand, so there is probably not a single point that lies exactly on any border. They are all pretty darn close though.
Politically correct. This map does not attemt to make any political statements about disputed regions around the world. You can use the included editor to adjust the data set as needed.
